Clémentine Schneidermann is a French photographer based between Wales and France. She holds an MA in documentary photography from the University of South Wales and has recently completed a practice-based PhD at the University of South Wales. She is interested in new approaches in documentary photography through engagement and creativity. She published her first monograph, I Called her Lisa Marie in 2018 (Chose Commune) created over a five-year period between Memphis and South Wales focused around the figure of Elvis Presley. Alongside her personal projects she also regularly collaborates with fashion magazines such as Vogue Italia, Dazed and Self Service. She is a co-founder of Bleak Fabulous Studio.
Charlotte James is a Creative Director, filmmaker, and educator from Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. Since 2014 Charlotte has been focused on making work that is socially engaged with community participation. She is interested in exploring different avenues in order to collaborate with communities through fashion, film and creative workshops. Charlotte's upbringing and the people she grew up around have had a massive influence upon her work. In homage to her youth, a large portion of her work has been made in her hometown, featuring family, friends, and locals to the area. Charlotte’s personal work has led her on commercial collaborations through creative direction, styling, casting, and filmmaking for BBC New Creatives, Ace &#38;amp; Tate, Gucci, Helmut Lang, and Sony Music.

	Jukebox Collective2021-2024


	The project led by Charlotte James and Clémentine Schneidermann involved a series of creative workshops with students from Jukebox Collective’s Academy, a programme supporting the next generation of Welsh creative talent. The students, ages 7 to 16 and primarily from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds, took part in workshops on costume design, styling, photography, illustration, and art direction. These sessions encouraged an exploration of Welsh pride and identity, where students gained new creative skills like moodboarding, styling, and customization, leveraging their heritage as a guide for expression. Inspired by the iconic Welsh hat, dating back to the nineteenth century, the project used this national iconography as a creative launching point. Working with Welsh costume designer Ffian Jones, the students engaged in a hat creation workshop, modernising the traditional item by imbuing it with their unique creative and cultural influences. They also incorporated other elements of Welsh national dress into their costumes, such as the red woollen cloak, paisley shawl, and Pais a Betgwn.

	Alexander McQueen2020 - 2021

A photography based project in collaboration with Alexander McQueen and youth in South Wales Valleys. 
Inspired by Alexander Mcqueen's Autumn winter 2020 collection, we worked alongside the Alexander McQueen team delivering creative workshops that taught young people an array of exciting new skills – from casting, clothing customization, photography, illustration, creative writing and embroidery with the aim of exposing the young people to job roles that exist within a major fashion brand. As well as giving them an opportunity to model the collections. 
The result is a cross art form combining photographs made by us and the young people presented in a book. The book also includes the young people's casting, illustrations, creative writing and embroidery pieces that they made in the workshops.
